Justice Incubator
The Justice Incubator is not a standard program but an innovative model aimed at redefining justice for survivors of violence. It moves beyond merely responding to violations, working instead to build an integrated system that achieves justice on multiple levels.
The Incubator aims to create a comprehensive, safe space that serves as both a "center of expertise" and a "safe haven." It integrates direct services (legal, psychological, medical) with efforts to change the societal and legal structures that allow violence to persist. This model understands that true justice requires addressing root causes, not just symptoms.
Our Approach: Restorative & Transformative Justice
Restorative Justice
A key pillar is Restorative Justice, which focuses on repairing the harm done to survivors rather than relying solely on traditional punitive measures. This is facilitated through family and community mediation sessions (where safe and appropriate), prioritizing the needs of survivors as a path to healing and repair.
Transformative Justice
The Incubator also empowers survivors to become agents of change in their communities. Through leadership and advocacy programs, survivors transform from beneficiaries into defenders of their rights and leaders in violence prevention efforts. This transformation is the core of the Transformative Justice that the Incubator seeks to achieve.
From Survivor to Leader
"This program did not just give me legal aid; it gave me a voice. I learned that my story is powerful and can be used to protect other women. Today, I lead awareness sessions in my own community."

Building a Better System
Finally, the Incubator aims to document the knowledge and expertise generated from fieldwork to develop better policies. Case studies and their outcomes are analyzed to build a robust evidence base used in advocacy to change discriminatory laws and improve protection services at the national level.
